Here's a picture of the blue socks I just finished for my sister-in-law Barb. You can almost see that there's something in there where the ribs widen out. Those are the purled fish shapes. When I gave them to her, Peter asked her what she saw, and she said footballs. Oh, well, she's a huge sports fan, she'd probably rather have footballs than fish, so I'll go with that.
Marylin, Marylin! You're here! Yey, you finally have a blog. Good for you! I don't know if you ever read mine, but I acutally finished my first pair of socks about 6 weeks ago and have cast on for another pair of bulky weight "around the house" warm and comfey socks. I should finish these real soon, since it is bulky weight. And - I'm buying a house and I move in next week! Yey! How is Peter and everything over there on the coast?
ReplyDeleteHey, I just commented on your blog. I forgot you had one! I have to bookmark it!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing your tiny socks when you first started them. They were soooo cute! I'm glad to see they have grown up to reach their full potential.
Bulky weight is a nice change. Like picking up some light reading during a break from school. Very rewarding to finish something so quickly.
We are doing okay out here. Only fly in the ointment is that Peter's job will end soon, probably in January. He'll be looking again. Scary stuff! Put in a good word for us on that one. Otherwise, though, we are enjoying being with the family again, and we are all healthy and happy. Peter has gotten some good ADD meds. You can probably imagine that he is enjoying that. We are getting ready to have the gang (probably 9-10 people) up to our place for Thanksgiving. Then our goddaughter, the one in Germany in the wheelchair, and her mom will be visiting for Christmas. So we have a full calendar for the holidays!
I was a flop on facebook, didn't manage to keep up AT ALL, but I think a blog might be more my speed. Stay tuned and see what happens!
